The conference focused attention on quality and employability rather than the stereotypical issues of quantity and statistics.

With an expected INR 22000 crore on CSR spending in the next financial year, this conference brought together various actors under one roof to deliberate on fostering partnerships that took forward the idea of better education. The objectives of the conference was to learn from leaders about the different models of CSR partnerships in the education sector, catalyze CSR partnerships between different actors and provide networking opportunities to scale up these innovations.

A platform to 'discuss, converse and design a path' said Bhomik Shah, PiC, this conference which was attended by members from 103 organizations aimed at a transformation in the education landscape of the country. The keynote was representative of stakeholders from the government, bilateral agencies, NGOs, corporate houses and research agencies.

Chetna Kaura, IICA in her welcome note shared her views of the 'CSR Bill being the new game changer' which places CSR into board room discussions. Explaining the functions of IICA and the role of NFCSR in detail she viewed the current trend of collaboration of the government, private bodies and the civil society as a moment of utopia.

Geared towards bringing about change and transformation in the education sector a recommendation of 'running CSR as a business' which looks at impact, measurements and evaluation was suggested by Satyam Deora, the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation.

Soumitro Chakraborty, Fiinovation touched on the issue of providing options to the child which looks at 'education reforms similar to the Finland'. He highlighted the relevance of education which boils down to the 'relationship of a teacher and student and cannot be decided in board rooms'.

Providing services which look at the 'fundamentals of education' and ensures 'virtual cycles of impact' must be the process while looking at CSR and education, said Umesh Brahme, Room to Read.

Pressing for the need for corporates to engage , Brig Williams, Jindal Stainless Ltd advocated for 'breaking silos' and employing 'technology in education as a way to enhance quality'.
