  • (1888PressRelease) April 03, 2012 - Barrie, Ontario As responsible adults it is important that we open up as many doors to learning as possible to kids around the world. One e-book retailer has decided to walk the walk by deciding to donate a percentage of their profits with a nonprofit organization dedicated to distributing books to the children (and adults) of Africa. InJust10Pages( http://injust10pages.com/ ) have announced that they shall donate 10 pages worth of books to the Books of Africa Foundation for every sign up.

The Books for Africa Foundation is the largest shipper of donated books to the African continent. Since their inception in 1988, they have shipped almost 28 million books for children and adults in 46 African countries included Zambia, Kenya, and Gambia. But they've got a long way to go, and the journey isn't easy.

"It costs almost $10,300 to send a sea container of books and computers to the different countries of Africa. 22 million is a pea sized figure compared to the millions of people who are hungry to read and learn. Books are the only medium for them to connect with the world that we often take for granted," says Brandon Schmid, President and CEO, InJust10Pages.

"In a world that is divided between the haves and have-nots, books are the only way where this divide can be bridged, especially when it comes to literacy and computer skills. In countries where war, hunger, corruption and injustice dominate, it only makes sense for businesses like us to try and alleviate the poverty of imagination through contributions such as these," adds Brandon. His company, InJust10Pages offers subscriptions to 10-page microbooks that contain user friendly information through free and paid subscriptions. While the free subscriptions gives access to blogs, books and the microbook( http://injust10pages.com/ ) library, for just over $4, subscribers get access to a wide variety of facilities.
