Independent Women's Football Team Boston Militia Headed to Eastern Conference Championship

The 2009 IWFL North Atlantic Champions are headed back to play in the Eastern Conference Championship. End Quote

Boston, MA-NH (1888PressRelease) July 08, 2010 - The Boston Militia have made it to the Eastern Conference Championship game of the Independent Women's Football League (IWFL). Still undefeated, the Militia became the North Atlantic Division champs by beating the New York Sharks on June 12th and they face off against the D.C. Divas in the Eastern Conference final.

The Women of the Gridiron have played hard all year defeating all of their opponents and won the IWFL Divisional Playoffs to earn a spot to capture the Eastern Conference Championship. Winners of the 2009 Divisional Playoffs, the Militia lost in the Conference Finals to the D.C. Divas. The Militia hope to avenge last year's post season loss and beat the Divas this time when they meet on July 10th. A win on July 10th will bring the team one step closer to the IWFL North American Championship being held at the ISD Stadium in Round Rock, Texas.

Since its initiation into the IWFL in 2007, the Militia has been a football dynamo. Their roster is made up of players from the former IWFL team Boston Rampage (formerly Bay State Warriors) and the National Women's Football Association's (NWFA) Mass Mutiny. The Militia have a combined record of 24-3 (including playoff games) in their first three seasons however they'll need to play their best against a formidable Divas team who won their Divisional Playoffs on June 12th as well.

The Eastern Conference Championship of the IWFL is scheduled to be played on Saturday July 10, 2010 at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville, MA. Kickoff is slated for 6pm and the game can also be listened to on 1510 AM.
