Inaugural Competition for Soloists in FanFaire Foundation's Messiah Sing-Along Holiday Concert in La Jolla, CA to be held November 13 & 14

  • San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) October 27, 2010 - FanFaire Foundation, a San Diego County-based nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing public appreciation of music and science, will hold a competition at the French Parlor in the University of San Diego's Founders Hall on November 13th (2 to 5:30 p.m.) and 14th (9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) to select soloists for its First Messiah Sing-Along Concert to be held at the Neurosciences Institute Auditorium in La Jolla on Friday, December 3 at 7:30 p.m. The Sing-Along will feature a full orchestra to be conducted by Dr. Angela Yeung, the Foundation's newly appointed Ambassador for Community Outreach.

    The concert ushers in the holiday season and formally launches FanFaire Foundation's Outreach program which is designed in part to bring varieties of life-enriching musical experiences throughout the year to people of all ages in San Diego County and to encourage significant community involvement, such as that exemplified by both the Messiah Sing-Along Concert and the search for soloists through a competition open to all interested members of the community.

    Singers with voice types in the following categories: soprano, alto, tenor and bass are welcome to join the competition. A $500 cash prize will be awarded to the best soloist. Other winners will receive gift packages.
