IMC - Jordan concludes consulting sector criteria documents, consultants' classification system

  • Albany-Schenectady-Troy, NY (1888PressRelease) May 22, 2011 - Funded by the European Union (EU) in cooperation with Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), IMC - Jordan stated that this project aims at stimulating the sector and specifying criteria for guidelines for all stakeholders. Additionally, it raises awareness on the importance of consulting and its role in developing business modules for companies, while stressing its ability in project management and technical crisis prevention and management that ensures a high level consulting services in various sectors within the regional and local markets.
    IMC - Jordan Executive Director, Reema Nasser established the importance of this project that draws on the comprehensive services, tools, methodologies, and stages it includes.

    She said, "Through the documents, which have been developed and supervised by local and international consultants, respectively, we managed to observe the benefits of management consulting and define the best practices for consultants and stakeholders, in an attempt at assisting both parties involved in understanding the duties and responsibilities of each, transparently and professionally."

    She added, "The "Classification System," which will be available through IMC - Jordan website soon, will provide a database that enterprises can use to determine the consultants they could employ categorized according to experience and specialty."

    In addition to its high usability, Nasser pointed out that the system includes a filtering tool that would help searchers specify the standards they need. She forecasted that the system would facilitate new contracts and job opportunities, in addition to boosting partnership opportunities.

    Nasser illustrated that the next phase of the JD 107,000 (Euro 117,000) project will include field activities and specialized workshops that aim at publicizing the documents, in addition to forming trade missions to support the exportation of the sector's services, consolidating its competitiveness in the region.

    It is worth mentioning that the project aims at raising awareness amongst enterprises for the importance of consulting and its role in developing businesses, and increasing the workers in the sector to keep up with the accelerating demand on its services. Additionally, it renders management consulting and training one of the main service sectors that Jordan depends on as a national product.
