- (1888PressRelease) July 29, 2010 - The International Association of Independent Recording Artist is pleased to announce the opening of its new operations center in located in Virginia Beach, Va. IAIRA Chief Operating Officer Mark Carman announced that IAIRA will relocate from its original base of operations in Nashville to a "more neutral environment". Carman went on to say, "Nashville was just where we happened to be when we initially began to conceptualize IAIRA. However, as we started expanding our research into a more universal base we have continually battled the ongoing issue being considered a country music organization." With the diversity of the cultural diversity and the robust economic development of the area, Virginia Beach just presented itself as a place of excellent opportunity a growing company."
IAIRA is a company which recognizes and honors artistic achievement, technical proficiency, and overall excellence in sound recording. It does this by conducting extensive research of various credible reporting charts and certifies the chart position attained by a specific work. IAIRA certification is issued without regard to advertisement, political prowess, subjective interpretation, or personal opinion
According to IAIRA President, Frank Scherman, "at IAIRA we strive to heighten awareness of the Independent Recording Arts and its impact on the recording and entertainment industry at large by serving as a trustworthy, unbiased repository for historical information, while providing a forum for industry leadership dialogue toward its goals."
IAIR presently employs approximately 45 individuals including numerous independent contractors. The company anticipates adding another 150 position in the coming year.
