  • (1888PressRelease) July 22, 2009 - Beijing's Hotel G recently appointed a new general manager. Mr. Alex Chakrabarti, is "excited at the prospect of taking Hotel G to the next level".

    Mr. Chakrabarti comes to Beijing's Hotel G with a wealth of international experience. He was educated at Newcastle University in United Kingdom, and gained early work experience in Africa and mainland Europe. His notable appointments include:
    • Banquet and Operations Manager at Holiday Inn in London (first graduate assignment)
    • Sabana Resort in Phuket, Thailand
    • Operations Manager at Mercure Hotel in Pattaya
    • Operations Director of King Power Entertainment, where he supervised opening of 10 restaurants in the new Bangkok airport and 1 at King Power Duty Free Complex
    • Operations Director and Executive Assistant Manager of Pullman Bangkok King Power in Thailand

    From the formation of its concept, Hotel G has been designed to innovate. It is a boldly designed, boutique hotel in Beijing. Hotel G is known for replacing the traditional beige and cream of international hotels with colour and artistry. Jessica Wang, Public Relations manager of Hotel G Beijing, believes that Mr Chakrabarti's appointment will help continue that tradition. "We've already seen plenty of great new ideas from Alex, including attending the ALTM, and introducing new culture and service standards", said Ms Wang.

    Mr Chakrabarti has already earned the commendation of guests, with a London businessman who stayed at the hotel recently commenting "The General Manager Alex runs a great ship. Its probably one of the first times I've really noticed an entire hotel team working so well together, and the happy/motivated feeling you get from them really makes a difference".

    Another Yorkshire business traveler commented that "Alex and all his team there are First Class from the moment you walk in to the time you leave".
