  • (1888PressRelease) April 12, 2011 - Doylestown, PA - The new Intelligent Machine Health Monitoring (IMHM) system is designed to remotely check your horizontal carousel system minute to minute allowing Sapient Automation's COP (Customer One Protection) Service Group to respond prior to failure. IMHM is standard and FREE on all Hornet Horizontal Carousels and is available on all other horizontal carousels regardless of manufacturer and age.

Key information is monitored 24/7 in real time, by the COP service group in order to detect variances and anomalies which could lead to failure or performance issues. The moment the IMHM system detects anything out of the ordinary, a message is sent to the local COP technician and to the central COP service monitoring group for immediate response. Depending on the issue, the facility service coordinator is contacted and a plan on how to correct the issue is discussed and executed.

The IMHM system remotely monitors critical thresholds, actual carousel usage, picks, run time, energy consumption levels, and more which creates and immediate local and central COP response. The IMHM is designed to keep horizontal carousel systems up and running and extend component and system lifetime utilization.

"With organizations having to rely on "Just In Time" inventory stocking levels even more than ever, making sure your automated storage and retrieval system (carousels and VLMs) are performing in top shape and will continue during crucial business times and cycles, said Ed Romaine, VP Marketing, Sapient Automation. He continued, "Organizations have to rely on the benefits of automation more now than ever to compete globally, so assuring that their automated storage and retrieval system and horizontal carousel system is reliable is more crucial than ever. The ability to know how a horizontal carousel system is performing prior to failure is 'the holy grail' of our industry. It's been discussed for decades and now available through Sapient Automation."

Regardless of age and brand of horizontal carousel, an IMHM system can be implemented on any existing system. This Intelligent Machine Health Monitoring System (IMHM) comes standard and free on all new Hornet Horizontal Carousels systems and will be available on all Vertical Carousels and Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs) shortly.
