  • Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) October 30, 2013 - Join the entire community at the City of West Palm Beach Veterans Day Parade & Lifestyle Festival on Sunday, November 10 in downtown West Palm Beach as we honor our veterans and celebrate the lifestyle that we are afforded because of their service!

Veterans Day is not about buying electronics and sheets; it's about paying your respects to the men and women who have served in our armed forces thereby ensuring your freedom. As you are enjoying your three-day holiday in honor of Veterans Day we encourage you to consider dedicating one of those days to honor our local heroes from the US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and the Coast Guard.

"November 10th will be a true tribute to our men and women in the armed forces. Expect a full day of family activities geared toward all generations which will provide the opportunity for children, parents and grandparents to discuss how veterans have and continue to provide for the lifestyle we are accustom to," says 95.9FM Seaview Radio GM Chet Tart. The Lifestyle Festival is being held from 12 noon - 5 p.m. on the City Commons lawn with the Veterans Day Parade, produced each year by the Palm Beach County Veterans Committee, beginning at 2 p.m. and traveling from west to east on Clematis ending at the festival on Flagler Drive.

The main stage kicks off at noon with live entertainment and continues throughout the day. Performances include local entertainers Lisa Dellarossa, Rob Russell, DVE Cheer/Twirl, Maltz Jupiter Theatre Youth Touring Company and The Arts Garage Jazz Band. At 3:30 p.m. there will be a special Veterans Day Program which includes local veterans, dignitaries and baritone Lou Galterio singing a special rendition of God Bless America followed by a daytime Zambelli Fireworks show.

In the Speakers Series Tent a variety of topics will be discussed starting each half hour with attendees eligible to win prizes from area restaurants, cultural organizations and more. Presenters include Jupiter Medical Center, Lesser Lesser Landy and Smith, Primus Health Network, South Florida Radiation Oncology, Pop culture columnist Leslie Grey Streeter and motivational speaker Robbyn Akner.

Other festival components include entertainment just for kids from Cool Beans Indoor Playground & Café and Gym Like This! including balloon animals and gymnastics; fitness experts from Twin Power Yoga and BOKWA who will be demonstrating various forms of exercise; and over 80 business, non-profit and veterans' booths with information as well as products and services for sale. A sampling of those in attendance include: Advanced Healthcare, American Travel Partners, CSI Caregiver Services Inc., Dawn's Designer Collection, Figurella Fitness, Frenzy Frames & More, Jamberry Nails, Nerium Skin Care, Pampered Chef, Pangea Organics, Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, PRP Wine International, Sams, Scentsy, South Hill Designs, Storm Tight Windows, The Borland Center, Thirty One Gifts and more…

No festival is complete without festival food favorites and you won't be disappointed. The food court includes Chowder Heads with lobster rolls and clam chowder; TocToc arepas; McCrays BBQ with Ribs, Pork and Chicken; Bob's Lemonade, Tikis Shaved Ice and Ice Cream as well as three food trucks including Pizza Trolley, Farmhouse Food Truck and 4 Alarm Pizza which is served from a vintage fire truck. Put them and a few others together with plenty of ice cold beverages from the Potions in Motion bars to wash it all down and we promise your taste buds won't be disappointed.

Admission is free and there is plenty of parking available at City of West Palm Beach garages and throughout the downtown area. This annual event benefits Friends of Veterans, Inc. and Meal on Wheels. The Lifestyle Festival is generously sponsored by Bennett Auto Supply, Florida Public Utilities, Geico, Kravis Center, Lesser Lesser Landy & Smith and 95.9 Seaview Radio.
