  • (1888PressRelease) July 17, 2018 - Home Credit India Finance Pvt. Ltd, one of India’s fastest growing non-banking finance company and part of Czech Republic-based Home Credit Group, is partnering with Madhya Pradesh Police to launch Project Jagruk, a one- of-its-kind unique initiative aimed at sensitizing and enhancing awareness among police personnel about cybercrime and financial frauds.

The project was launched in Bhopal today in the presence of Mr. Dharmendra Choudhary, DIG, Bhopal Police and Mr. Manish Kaushik, Head – Security, Home Credit India along with other senior officials. Besides Bhopal, Project Jagruk has been launched in Gurugram, Ambala, and Mehsana. The project is part of a broader corporate social responsibility initiative of Home Credit India that seeks to build a sustainable and long-term relationship with law enforcement agencies, especially police from different cities across India, by sharing best practices with police personnel in investigating complex cases pertaining to financial frauds and cybercrime.

Welcoming the launch of Project Jagruk, Mr. Choudhary said, “With rising incidents of ransomware, online financial frauds, and data thefts posing a significant threat to both public and private sector organizations, an effective cybercrime management strategy can help identify and prevent cyberattacks. This can be achieved through a closer collaboration between law enforcement agencies, governments and other important stakeholders. Project Jagruk is a right step in this direction of having a proactive and responsive cybersecurity framework, and serves as a model for other corporates to launch similar initiatives.”

“We are extremely happy to partner with the Madhya Pradesh police for this important cybersecurity awareness initiative. With cyber security being one of the key challenges faced by organizations, local police authorities are an important partner for us in our efforts towards mitigating the impact of cybercrimes. As a responsible lending organization, we are committed to working closely with law enforcement agencies in creating the right ecosystem for an effective and sustained cyber security awareness campaign for the society as a whole," said Mr. Kaushik.

Project Jagruk entails knowledge sharing sessions with police officials across different levels on challenges, issues and measures relating to prevention of cybercrime, cyberbullying, online and financial frauds. These sessions will highlight current prevailing trends through case studies and reference materials.
