  • (1888PressRelease) May 04, 2018 - New York, NY — Holmeswood releases "Hollywood"; an Electronica Freestyle cover of American singer-songwriter Madonna's original 2003 song. Continuing the vinyl vibe of his last remix single "The Dream Is Today (Vinyl Sunrise Remix)", Holmeswood's "Hollywood" utilizes a scoring turntable style baseline along with some scratching, modern synth effects mixed with electronic vintage organs giving a fresh spin with a timeless essence of The Doors. There's also some special signature Holmeswood surprise effects along the California ride as well in this fun and spirited extended track.

"Hollywood" was written and produced by Madonna and Mirwais Ahmadzaï for Madonna's ninth studio album, American Life (2003) and released as the second single from the album by Maverick Records on July 14, 2003. Coincidentally, Billboard and other media sources are speculating the exciting prospect that Madonna is currently in the studio collaborating again with Mirwais on new music for her next upcoming album. This is Holmeswood's second cover version of "Hollywood". The first version was a heavy metal interpretation arranged and recorded with British music producer Jamie Muffett for Holmeswood's successful 2015 self-titled album release. This new cover of "Hollywood" is an Electronica version re-arranged and produced by Argentinian pianist / composer / producer Dario Boente (Antonio Sanchez, Ronny Jordan, Fernando Otero, Joshua Thompson, Pablo Aslan, Mark Whitfield and others); and co-produced by Eric Jayk (Sandra Bernhard’s Rock Band and her off-Broadway Show, “Everything Bad, & Beautiful”, Wildstreet, Astra The 22s, and others). The track is expressively vocal driven with all new vocals by Holmeswood.

Christopher Wood Holmes (a.k.a. ‘Holmeswood’,) is an American pop-rock singer/songwriter, actor, director and producer of film and music videos. His first film appearance was in director Frank Oz’s 2004 remake of The Stepford Wives, starring Nicole Kidman, Glenn Close, Bette Midler and Christopher Walken. Next, he appeared in two episodes of Whoopi Goldberg’s sitcom Whoopi, followed by the lead role as a zombie slayer in Film Royale’s The Long Road to Gary, which premiered at the Village East Cinema in NYC as an Official Selection in the 2005 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. After a bit part in Revolutionary Road, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in 2009, he portrayed Corporate Agent Geryon alongside veteran actor and producer Lloyd Kaufman in his second Film Royale project Polypore, released in 2013.

In 2008, he made his live stage debut as the vocal performer “Holmeswood” at the New York International Guitar Festival’s “Bob Dylan Song Contest.” When Holmeswood took the stage at the legendary Bitter End on Bleecker Street in NYC he brought the house down performing a pop version of Dylan’s "Like a Rolling Stone". From there he was selected as one of the finalists to perform at the Arts World Financial Center–Winter Garden.

Stay tuned . . . since the release of the album, Holmeswood has been in the studio working on a collection of remixes which will continue to be released in the near future.
