  • Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) December 24, 2020 - In honor of the holiday season, the Scientology Information Center in downtown Clearwater will close at 6pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and will be closed Christmas Day. Regular hours for the Center are Sunday through Friday 10am – 1pm and 2pm to 7pm. The Center is open on Saturdays from 1pm to 7pm.

The Information Center contains educational displays and more than 600 videos featuring different aspects of Scientology, it’s Founder L. Ron Hubbard, its religious beliefs and the Church’s international humanitarian work.

“If you want to be uplifted and see good news about what is happening around the world, I highly recommend a visit,” said Amber Skjelset, the Manager of the Information Center. “There are stories of people working in the fields of human rights, drug education, literacy and moral education that show that one person can make a difference.”

Ms. Skjelset cites the story of reverend Leon Kelly, who utilizes L. Ron Hubbard’s non-religious moral code The Way to Happiness, to help gangsters, parolees and at-risk youth how to live a happier life.

“Then there is Adam Kelly,” said Ms. Skjelset.”He is a reality TV star in London, who has his own history with drugs and didn’t want to go back to that life. He learned about the Truth About Drugs education program and is now using this to help thousands of children learn the truth about drugs so that they don’t end up down the same path that he did. There are dozens of such stories, and you can see them here at the Scientology Information Center.”

Visitors can also learn why Scientologists seek to help those of any race, religious affiliation or background.

“In the book, Fundamentals of Thought, Mr. Hubbard wrote: ‘Change no man’s religion, change no man’s politics, interrupt the sovereignty of no nation. Instead, teach man to use what he has and what he knows to the factual creation, within any political reference, of a civilization on Earth for the first time,’ and this center helps provide a way for people to learn how Scientology can help them, as individuals do just that,” said Skjelset.

The Scientology Information Center is located at 500 Cleveland Street in downtown Clearwater. For more information, go to www.scientology.org or call 727-467-6966.
