  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) August 25, 2010 - HPG Wealthcare Advisors, LLC (www.hpgwealthcare.com), a Raleigh-based collaboration of financial professionals, announces today that the family of Steven D. Katzenstein is included in the North Carolina Museum of History travelling exhibit Down Home: Jewish Life in North Carolina. Katzenstein serves as a financial adviser for the firm and is the fourth generation of his family to live in North Carolina.

The North Carolina history of the Katzenstein family dates back to the 1870s. Throughout the museum exhibit are photographs and stories that narrate the family challenges and triumphs. The exhibit brochure also features the Katzensteins on the cover.

"This exhibit is a great step in chronicling the history and tradition of Jewish people in North Carolina," says Katzenstein. "To have my family included in such a magnificent display is touching."

Organized by the Jewish Heritage Foundation of North Carolina, the travelling exhibit is one portion of a four-part multimedia project by the same name. The project also includes fourth- and eighth-grade curriculum guides for all North Carolina public schools, a documentary film that is available on DVD and a companion book. Down Home: Jewish Life in North Carolina chronicles the role the Jewish community has played in advancing North Carolina's economy, society and culture. Through recounting the personal stories of how families integrated their Jewish traditions into Southern culture, the project highlights the more than 400-year history of Jewish life in the state.

The exhibit will be at the North Carolina Museum of History until March 6, 2011. It will then move on to Greensboro, Wilmington, Charlotte and Asheville. More information on the exhibit is available at www.ncmuseumofhistory.org. To purchase copies of the documentary and book, or to learn when the exhibit will be displayed in other areas, visit the Jewish Heritage Foundation of North Carolina's website at www.jhfnc.org.
