Hip Hop Artist and Seattle-Native Anthony J. Shears Pens Ode to Seahawks Following the Release of the Deluxe

On October 1st, 2013, this single was featured on Northwest Cable News during the Northwest Sports Tonight Show and on King 5 News during their Sports segment. Staying true to its name, the song was accompanied by a highlight video featuring the Guinness World Record Holder 12th Man Fans, the beautiful Sea Gals and, of course, the beloved Seattle Seahawks. Since its release, his single can be heard regularly in other programs within these sister stations such as NWCN Fone Zone, a call-in show telecast, airing immediately after each Seattle Seahawk Sunday game.

In his own words, Shears describes his motivation for this song:

"I wrote this song simply because it needed to be written. In a way, this song wrote itself with the type of season our Seahawks are having. When you've been a Seahawks fan as long as I have, you understand the importance of authenticity and loyalty. That's what being a 12 is all about - Authenticity!"

The Loud and Proud project followed Shears' latest album, The Growth: My ENDtroduction Deluxe Edition. As a follow up to its original 2007 album, this Deluxe Edition was released on July 23, 2013 with an additional 5 new songs.

Having grown up in a home where domestic was the norm and after his step-father was murdered in a domestic dispute in 2004, Shears began using music as an outlet to confront the issue of abuse. His music is deep. It is direct. It is real.

Shears donates a portion of the proceeds from his sales to the YWCA of Seattle to support awareness and raise money for the YWCA's Violence Against Women Programs.

Shears returned to his hometown of Seattle this past month to reintroduce both his latest album and his latest single. He is currently in the studio preparing for The Growth: Basement Acoustic Tour.
