  • (1888PressRelease) February 26, 2014 - The Gastech CoTEs technical seminar programme is dedicated to delivering knowledge, education and awareness of technological innovations in the gas industry. The focus on gas liquefaction technology will be of special interest to Korea, the world's second largest importer of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

Liquefaction is the most technically challenging aspect of the LNG production process. One key issue is the rising cost of liquefaction and whether floating LNG (FLNG) projects will help reduce costs, which will depend on what liquefaction processes are used for such facilities.

Leading industry associations and high-level speakers from some of the world's most-respected global gas industry companies and organizations will participate in the CoTEs. The gas liquefaction technology stream will feature speakers from KOGAS, Air Products and Chemicals of the U.S., Australia's Woodside Energy, Norway's KANFA Aragon, Houston-based Cameron International, Cosmodyne of the U.S., Houston-based Baker Hughes, the Paris-based International Institute of Refrigeration and Gas Consult of the UK, who are confirmed to share the latest developments in liquefaction technology.

Topics to be covered during the stream include advances in the cryogenic technology at the heart of the liquefaction process and developments in FLNG projects for offshore liquefaction systems.

Liquefaction will be one of the nine CoTEs streams at this year's event, which also include LNG & gas carrier ship technology, offshore & subsea technology, LNG fuel technology, power generation, natural gas vehicles, health, safety, security & environment, pipeline infrastructure and NGL & GTL technology.

"Gastech is definitely an important date in our calendars and has become an invaluable opportunity to meet with clients and suppliers from around the globe. Put simply, having the global gas industry under one roof is hugely helpful and often results in great opportunities," said Inga Bettina Waldmann, manager of business development for KANFA Aragon, who will be one of the speakers at the liquefaction stream.

The Liquefaction CoTES stream takes place at the Gastech Exhibition on Tuesday 25 March 2014 at KINTEX1. For more information, please visit www.gastechkorea.com/cotes
