  • (1888PressRelease) December 05, 2012 - Hendersonville's Main Street was a flurry of activity Sunday as a parade marched down the thoroughfare. The theme this year was Christmas Through Time.

New to the 2012 parade was Team Happy, the local chapter of The Way to Happiness Foundation.

Team Happy distributed more than 2,000 copies of The Way to Happiness, a common-sense moral code that can be followed by anyone of any race, culture or creed.

Authored by L. Ron Hubbard to fill the moral void in an increasingly materialistic society, the 21 precepts of The Way to Happiness provide a road map any individual may follow to make choices leading to a happier, more decent and fulfilling life.

Chris Hays who organizes the local chapter said, "We are so proud to be part of this parade and have the opportunity to help the community."

Team Happy had two volunteers holding a banner with The Way to Happiness on it, and a truck following closely behind. Volunteers walked alongside the truck distributing copies of the booklet to the many people who were watching the parade avidly. All volunteers were decked out in Santa hats and the truck was decorated with bows, garlands and "Merry Christmas" written in white.

"This book has great messages," says Hays. "It contains the golden rule of 'treat others as you would like to be treated,' which is quite appropriate during the holidays."
