  • Boston, MA-NH (1888PressRelease) November 04, 2010 - Heartwood Media, an award-winning Manchester, NH based TV and digital media production company just put the finishing touches on a project for Girls at Work, Inc., a New Hampshire non-profit. Girls At Work assists girls and women in building confidence and independence in an open and supportive atmosphere while learning the craft of woodworking.

Heartwood Media spent a day shooting at Child & Family Services' Camp Spaulding where young women were taught the basics of woodworking by Elaine Hamel, Girls at Work founder. Using power tools, these young girls built picnic tables for the camp and an upcoming fundraising auction. It was obvious what an impact this program was having on the girls' confidence as the 7-11 year olds lifted picnic tables and sawed boards.

The video will make its public debut at Girls at Work's Music Fest & Silent Auction on November 6th. For more information about Girls at Work, visit their website: http://www.girlswork.org/
