  • (1888PressRelease) July 10, 2010 - Union City, TN - HAYGAIN Hay Steamers is proud to announce its sponsorship of top U.S. eventer Buck Davidson.

    Buck was born into the world of Eventing and equestrian sport under the influence of his father, two-time Eventing World Champion, Bruce Davidson. His background experience as a foxhunter and timber racer helped him to become the well-rounded eventing competitor that he is today.

    Early on, Buck made great achievements winning the Markham Trophy three times as the highest placing Young Rider in a USET Championship. He was awarded Young Rider of the Year in 1996 at age 20, and won the individual Bronze and team Silver Medals at the North American Young Riders' Championships in 1997. He received the Hermes Award for Best Young Rider of all USET Disciplines. Buck remains the only two-time Young Rider of the Year.

    In 1998, Buck entered his first four star event at the Rolex Kentucky where he placed sixth on Trans Am Flirt. He placed tenth at this event the following year and then fourth in 2000 riding Pajama Game. The pair were also on the U.S. team in the Pan American Games in 1999.

    Other career highlights for Buck include: being placed on the Short List for the 2000 Sydney Olympics with Special Attention; receiving the 2004 Pinnacle Trophy for the Highest Placed US Rider at Rolex KY CCI**** with Mystic Mike; being placed on the Short List for the 2004 World Equestrian Games with Class Touch; winning the Jersey Fresh CCI*** with Hyperlite in 2005; winning the Bromont CCI** in 2006 with Private Heart; ranking #3 Rider in the United States and #6 Rider in the World in 2006; winning Red Hills CIC** and placing 2nd at Jersey Fresh CCI** on Ballynoe Castle RM in 2007; ranking #4 Rider in the United States in 2008; serving as 2008 Hong Kong Olympic Alternate with Ballynoe Castle RM; being 2008 Express Eventing Competitor with My Boy Bobby; winning The Fork CIC*** Adequin Gold Cup with My Boy Bobby in 2009; winning the 2009 Pinnacle Trophy for Highest Placed US Rider at Rolex KY CCI**** with My Boy Bobby; ranking #2 Rider in the United States in 2009.

    In 2010, Buck won The Fork CIC*** on My Boy Bobby and placed 16th at Rolex KY CCI**** on Titanium. He has been named to the USEF Short List for the US Eventing Team for the FEI World Equestrian Games with My Boy Bobby and Ballynoe Castle RM. The WEG will be held from September 25 thru October 10, 2010, at Lexington's Kentucky Horse Park.
