- (1888PressRelease) June 11, 2025 - Dallas, TX - Harvest Christian University (HCU), a private, faith-based institution dedicated to transformative education rooted in Christian values, is proud to announce the commencement of its 2025 Summer Class during its New York ceremony. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, HCU continues its mission to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for impactful
leadership in their communities and honor those that have achieved great things in their respective fields.
HCU recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to their professions and communities through its prestigious Honorary Doctorate Degree Program. This initiative celebrates accomplished professionals, including business owners, entrepreneurs, artists, and educators, by awarding honorary degrees that acknowledge their achievements and impact.
The group of graduates that received their honorary doctorate are Andrew Harrell, Keith Perrin, Jr., Biggie Smalls (posthumous), Dayna Davis, Christopher Palmer, Jr., Michelle Malone, Jerome Stanislaus, and Tiffany Murray. Past notable honorees have included Busta Rhymes, T.I., Tank, Cedric the Entertainer, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant, Damon Dash, Ruben Studdard, Michael Irvin, Drew Pearson, Dave Hollister, Cheyenne Bryant, Carl Thomas, Monique Nikkole, and Bernie Mac. The university also recently added notable alumni Priscilla Echi, Paul Salfen, and Robert “Don Pooh” Cummins to the staff.
University president Dr. Carl Robinson says, “As the school continues to grow and our alumni group becomes even stronger, we are honored to add these names to a list of individuals that have worked so hard to become the names you recognize now. Just as a degree is the promise that you will do something great, this is the evidence that these people have already done something great.”
The ceremony took place on Friday, May 30th in Queens, NY. The night before, the Icon Awards Alumni Gala took place at Russo’s On the Bay in Queens, which included a red carpet, dinner, panel, awards show, and special performance.
HCU offers a diverse range of programs, including undergraduate and graduate degrees in theological studies, business management, and legal studies. Notably, the university has expanded its legal studies offerings to include comprehensive master’s and PhD degrees in Commerce Law, Paralegal Studies, and Consumer Credit. These programs aim to revolutionize the justice system by equipping students with advanced knowledge and skills.
In a collaboration with local businesses and civic leaders, HCU has established the Civic Leadership Academy. This initiative is designed to strengthen connections between nonprofits, law enforcement, government, and civic leaders, fostering a robust pipeline of qualified professionals committed to community engagement and public service.
Upholding a philosophy of debt-free education, HCU offers direct support and scholarship opportunities to its students. This approach ensures that graduates can embark on their professional journeys unencumbered by financial burdens, allowing them to focus on making meaningful contributions in their respective fields.
