Harakarsa Celebrates Its Second Anniversary With a Look Back at Dena Wardhana’s Founder Journey

Two years after its founding, Harakarsa reflects on its growth from a personal idea into a youth-led media platform connecting everyday news, creative culture, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
- (1888PressRelease) September 27, 2026 - Harakarsa, a youth-led media platform focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), is marking its second anniversary on October 1, 2026, with a reflection on the journey that began with a simple idea: making the SDGs easier to understand through everyday news, culture, and creative media.
Founded in 2024 by Dena Wardhana, Harakarsa was created from the belief that conversations about sustainable development should not be limited to formal institutions, academic discussions, or international forums. Over the past two years, the platform has developed into a media initiative that connects current issues with youth perspectives, entertainment, culture, and social impact. The journey has also become part of Wardhana's own development as a young creator and founder learning how to build an organization while continuously redefining what youth-led media can contribute to public conversations.
"Harakarsa started as an idea before it became an independent media. The biggest lesson from these two years is that building something meaningful is not only about how large it becomes, but about how consistently you can give the idea a reason to exist," said Dena Wardhana, Founder and Total Director of Harakarsa. "There were many moments when the direction changed, the system had to be rebuilt, and I had to learn along the way. That process is part of Harakarsa's story."
Harakarsa operates under Hundred Miles Group, a creative company developing systems and cross-platform entertainment intellectual property under the principle "Media. Culture. Impact." Through its work, Harakarsa has brought together young contributors, ambassadors, creators, and audiences around topics ranging from climate action and social issues to entertainment and popular culture. Rather than presenting the SDGs as distant global targets, Harakarsa seeks to connect them with stories and issues that young people encounter in everyday life.
The second anniversary will be marked through #TwogetherWithHARAKARSA, a campaign reflecting on the people, ideas, and experiences that have shaped the platform since 2024. For Wardhana, the milestone is not simply a celebration of an organization reaching another year, but a moment to recognize the people who contributed to its journey and the lessons gained from building a youth-led initiative from the ground up.
As Harakarsa enters its third year, the platform aims to continue developing its role at the intersection of media, culture, and sustainable development, while creating more opportunities for young people to participate in meaningful conversations and translate global goals into stories that feel closer to everyday life.
