  • Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) August 30, 2011 - On September 10th art aficionados, culture enthusiasts, and Second Saturdays Art Walk lovers will gather at the Haitian Heritage Museum (HHM) for "ARTrageous Social Soiree: Vibrant Hues." The event showcases the museum's latest installation " Vibrant Hues", by Haitian-American artist, David Saintus. Attendees will indulge in the artist's opening show in an ambience rich in Haitian culture and music.

Influenced by the vibrancy and eclectic heritage of Haiti's world renowned art scene, Saintus presents himself today as an artist who paints with a visionary style in the tradition of Haitian naive and primitive art. His personal style often leads him to the unique world of fantasy and is revealed in the mystical quality achieved by using perspective and subtle color palettes to form two- dimensional surfaces.
His masterpieces have been featured at numerous expositions across the globe, including France, London, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Dominican Republic, New York, Key West, and Miami.

Haitian Heritage Museum will also be supporting Dacra and Big Brothers Big Sisters launch of the "Under Improvement" campaign through an evening of community and art in the Design District. The purpose of the project is to emphasize the long-term impact that Big Brothers Big Sisters has, not just on the lives of children but on Miami neighborhoods like Little Haiti, Coconut Grove, Hialeah, Little Havana, Overtown, and Liberty City.

The evening will bring awareness to the Haitian Heritage Museum's iconic recognition as the world's first Haitian museum outside of Haiti. In addition to its exhibitions, the museum also facilitates cultural programming throughout the South Florida community through its signature program, Ayiti Expose. This program together with the Museum Magnet program also provides cultural outreach workshops that use object-based learning in Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Museum Magnet partner schools; North Miami Senior High, North Miami Middle, and W.J. Bryan Elementary.

The Artrageous Social Soiree is open to all attendees for $10 admission or $20 which includes 1-year membership to the Haitian Heritage Museum. In addition to vibrant art and music, guests will be treated to complimentary wine and light hors d'oeuvres courtesy of Whole Foods Market South Beach and sweet treats courtesy of The Baking Girls.

    Attendees may RSVP at HaitianHeritageMuseum.eventbrite.com.
