  • Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) November 11, 2021 - Charlise Johnson, owner-operator of In My Fillings, thanks the community for support

Gwinnett-based competitive baker, Charlise Johnson is celebrating a unique first year anniversary this week. Johnson’s retail cupcake bakery, In My Fillings, opened last year in November during the pandemic and will celebrate one year of business Saturday.

Last year In My Fillings opened to consumer uncertainties, mask mandates, state-sanctioned social distancing protocols and heightened food safety guidelines. “COVID-19 restrictions created challenges for us along the way, but I’m appreciative that our neighbors responded with love, and now we have a one-year anniversary worth celebrating,” said Johnson.

"We wouldn't still be here if not for the community, people believing in us and wanting to see us be successful, so we are just very grateful for our customers who continue to support us," Johnson said.

Johnson will celebrate the milestone Saturday from 11 am - 7 pm with a family-friendly community event including face painting, mini DJ lessons and hourly prize giveaways.

In My Fillings is located in Horizon Village Shopping Center at 2855 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd #780, Suwanee, Ga.

“I’ve always wanted In My Fillings to be an environment where our community members can stop by with their families and share treats. We’re finally beginning to implement my vision,” said Johnson.

Johnson became a competitive baker in 2016 and has competed on Food Network shows, Cake Wars and Holiday Wars.

Johnson studied Computer Science at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has made her home in Gwinnett county, where until last year, she worked full-time as a database developer, pursuing her baking interests part-time since 2013. Her gallery of work can be found at https://www.instagram.com/intimateeats/

Johnson’s cupcake bakery offers a “create-your-own” filled cupcake concept. Customers select cupcake flavors, then choose from a menu of accompaniments including filling, icing and toppings.

In My Fillings also offers chocolate chip cookies and a vegan, gluten-free chocolate ganache filled cupcake all of which are made from scratch and baked fresh each day.
