  • (1888PressRelease) July 16, 2015 - Travelers requiring accessible hotels will now find it much easier to find the accommodations that they need. The new ADAfriendly.com searches hotels by destination and travel dates similar to Priceline.com, but allows them to be sorted according to accessibility status in addition to by star rating and by various amenities.

"Working in the field of accessibility, we see buildings every day that are not universally designed," the website's co-creator, Brad Gaskins, said. "Everyone deserves travel that is convenient and accommodating - we're just trying to make it easier for those with accessibility concerns."

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 20% of the population over 15 years of age has a disability - this is not even including children with disabilities. And as baby boomers age, this number is only going up. Individuals with disabilities spend $13.6 billion a year on travel and $4.2 billion on lodging specifically. When booking travel with loved ones, their choice of lodging is going to come down to one thing: accessibility.

In addition to running hotel searches, ADAFriendly.com offers valuable resources such as information on Guide Dogs for the Blind, Accessible Van Rentals and AskBrad, an ADA Compliance Question and Answer resource.

The site also plans to feature highly rated accessible products and services.
