  • (1888PressRelease) August 22, 2013 - Oakville, Ontario - Great Lakes Filters, a leader in manufacturing and distributing filters, filter fabrics and filtration solutions for a wide variety of industries and applications, recently improved inventory, job tracking and streamlined the overall manufacturing processes. INDUSTRIOS Software, Inc., developer of INDUSTRIOS manufacturing software integrated with Sage 300 ERP, assisted with this endeavour.

Great Lakes Filters and INDUSTRIOS share a long history, so when inventory improvements were needed, they relied on the powerful Inventory module of INDUSTRIOS to provide data availability and tracking. Great Lakes has marked significant improvements. Following an implementation of inventory flow by INDUSTRIOS, created as a base for all improvements, mobile transactions were used to process the movement of inventory throughout the facility. Extensive tracking ensued, including real-time data related to shipments, receipts and inventory on the shop floor, which also contribute to accurate cycle counts.

Prior to the upgrade, inventory counts were a painstaking process, needing a team of six up to five days to complete and often resulted with inaccuracies. As a result of process changes, shop floor tracking, mobile transactions and cycle counts from the INDUSTRIOS implementation, an additional 29 days is now available for production needs. Previously, when year end counts were used, over 280 hours were needed to perform this task, often with inaccurate. Inventory processes are now streamlined, and closely monitored with weekly counts replacing year end inventory counts.

Ray Lambert, CFO of Great Lakes said, "With INDUSTRIOS, we've gained absolute control over our inventory. With mobile transactions, shop floor tracking and cycle counts the improvement in accuracy has been tremendous." These enhancements have increased inventory accuracy, improved cycle counts and saved money while providing enhanced customer service.

Great Lakes Filters is now enjoying the benefits from having organized inventory processes, easily accessible information and accurate inventory. All within one solution: INDUSTRIOS.
