  • Orange County, CA (1888PressRelease) September 23, 2015 - Being a designated driver (DD) has become much more attractive now that restaurants are joining forces with the California Office of Traffic Safety. Two of Orange County's finest restaurants, Bistango in Irvine and Bayside in Newport Beach, will now offer free nonalcoholic beverages to DDs. DDs are encouraged to announce themselves when they arrive at the restaurants so that their bill reflects the complimentary drinks.

In response to the introduction of the program, both Bayside and Bistango have added nonalcoholic beverage(s) called "mocktails." At Bayside, for instance, guests can enjoy a "Strawberry Fojito" of strawberry puree, fresh mint, lime juice & soda water or "Mocktail Mule" of mint, lime, simple syrup, ginger beer & club soda, while at Bistango the "Alcohol-FREE Mint Julep" of mint syrup and lemonade will be offered.

"We are delighted to partner with the California Office of Traffic Safety on this worthwhile program that will, no doubt, prove valuable in enticing more people to be DDs," said Bistango owner John Ghoukassian.

Bayside is a contemporary dining establishment with an extensive menu emphasizing fresh seafood. The 246-seat restaurant, that overlooks the tranquil waters of Newport Harbor, recently completed a massive interior renovation. The remodeled interior lends the ideal backdrop to Bayside's ever-evolving fine art exhibition. The wrap-around patio comes with built-in heaters and sun drapes and its large windows offer breathtaking views of the harbor. Live entertainment is offered nightly in the bar and lounge and during Champagne Sunday brunch. Located at 900 Bayside Drive in Newport Beach, CA. New to its beverage offerings are beers on draft and 30 craft beers by the bottle, which include some difficult to acquire selections.
