  • Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, FL (1888PressRelease) August 05, 2018 - On Saturday the 21st of July the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center and TAG-IN put together backpacks full of school supplies that will be given away at a back to school event in Tampa. Volunteers stuffed about 200 backpacks with school supplies that every child needs such as, notebooks, pencils, calculators, glue and even bags of chips.

“I don’t always have the opportunity to volunteer like this so I really appreciate it when I do,” said Tina, a volunteer. “I love to do it because I know we are helping those kids who won’t be able to get their school supplies on their own.”

TAG-IN stands for Teaching Another Generation in Need and they are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. Their mission is to bring forth youth that are confident in who they are and desire to help other youth in their schools, communities, and around the world. They aim to train the next generation to be bold and unashamed, believe in what’s right and implement good moral values.

“Not every child is afforded the opportunity to have all the necessary supplies that they need to start school” said Michael Soltero, Manager of the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center. “The combined effort of TAG-IN and our volunteers made it possible for these kids to have the school supplies that they would not otherwise have. Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard wrote ‘Today’s children will become tomorrow’s civilization,’ so it is of utmost importance to make sure they get the education they deserve.”

Since its opening in March, the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center has served over 45 different nonprofit organizations from across the Tampa Bay, and has had over 2700 people walk through its doors. Non-profit and volunteer groups can use the CCV Center for their own meetings and events as no cost.
