  • (1888PressRelease) October 25, 2011 - In response to growing demand for hand carry services, Chapman Freeborn On Board Courier (OBC) Team of specialists has moved to new modern headquarters near Cologne-Bonn airport in Germany.

The OBC Team, which hand-delivers i.e. time-critical parts and important documents worldwide, has also been strengthened by the arrival of Pasquale Bellarosa to the position of Business Development and Sales Manager to the office in Germany.

As the worldwide hand carry service expands across Chapman Freeborn's global offices, additional teams have also been established in Houston Texas, Beijing, Istanbul and Singapore - with plans to further develop the product in South America and India.

Bill Griffith, OBC Services Sales Manager at Chapman Freeborn in Houston, Texas, brings more than 25 years of experience in sales and freight forwarding and will be developing the Americas markets for On Board Courier services. Strategically located in Houston, Bill will be targeting the oil & gas, automotive & pharmaceutical industries among other sectors.

Bill commented that, "the OBC Team has the highest quality standards due to specially trained and vetted couriers located throughout the world." In a recent example of the lengths Chapman Freeborn OBC will go through to ensure the job is completed, a Chapman Freeborn courier, on behalf of Bertling Logistics (a global leader in freight forwarding) departed Houston for Doha, Qatar, with urgently needed oilfield parts destined for a global Oil & Gas company in Saigon. The courier set out to rendezvous with a courier out of Europe, who holds the necessary permits to enter Vietnam. Unable to make the exchange in Doha, the courier boarded a subsequent flight to Bangkok, in order to facilitate the exchange to the 2nd courier. The goods were delivered on time, some 30 hours after departure from Houston, to the waiting recipient in Saigon. The U.S. based courier then flew on from Bangkok to Tokyo and Tokyo to Houston, having made a complete circumference of the globe in 65 hours! (51 of which was spent either in the air, or airports). In this particular case, the courier was none other than OBC Services Sales Mgr., Bill Griffith.

Handling the logistics, flights, connections, customs and overcoming transit obstacles from across the globe is what makes the OBC Team a statement in the industry; excelling at operational details, customer service and professionalism.

This extensive network of professionals enables Chapman Freeborn OBC to meet the growing demands for tailor-made courier solutions worldwide.

Available around the clock, the company's fully insured and trained couriers possess passports and visas for countries that are traditionally very difficult to access. The shipment is accompanied by one dedicated courier from pick up to personal delivery. The OBC Team manages all the details for the urgent shipment, from flight bookings to entry requirements and customs regulations, anywhere in the world. Customers are kept up-to-date with all movements through regular status reports and are notified immediately when the delivery has been made.

Commenting on the expansion of the service Carsten Volk, Global Product Manager for Chapman Freeborn OBC, says:

"With existing charter clients regularly asking for courier services, it was a logical step to develop an OBC product to specifically address this market.

"While headquartered in Cologne, we are in constant communication with our couriers positioned around the world to ensure shipments are delivered safely - from the sender's desk direct to the recipient's hands. With high security standards, our service provides an excellent transport solution which will be of great comfort to our customers."
