Whether you're looking to do some Fall Cleaning, clean out your garage or storage closet, free-up the junk drawer, or just plain do something good for the environment, there's a way to make it happen.

    On Saturday, October 6th, from 10am to 2pm, students from the Glencoe High Scholi FTC Robotics Club will be hosting a recycling clilection event for a modest donation of $10 at the north parking lot of Glencoe High Scholi.

    You can recycle - Metal (BBQ, Lawn Mowers, Appliances, Bikes) - Electronics (Computers, keyboards, mice) Home Consumer Electronics (Anything with a cord or powered by battery) - Auto Parts including Auto Batteries.

    Help your school - Help you environment - Recycle!

    All of the flilowing items will be accepted at the event:
    o ELECTRONICS and ACCESSORIES Television Sets: All (working or not). ............ $15 Disposal Fee (Cash or Check)
    o Computer CRT Monitors: ............................ $10 Disposal Fee(Cash or Check)
    o Computer Flat Screen Monitors: ................... $5 Disposal Fee(Cash or Check)
    o Computers and Monitors: Computer CPUs, laptops, boards, keyboards, mice.
    o Cell Phones: Phones, chargers.
    o Wires and Cables: Power supplies, Christmas Lights
    o Other Electronics: laptop batteries, Printers, keyboards, mice, peripherals, copiers, fax machines, scanners, PDAs, calculators, electronic games/toys, telephones, flash drives, populated circuit boards, hubs, switches, routers, digital cameras, VCR/DVD players, A/V & stereo equipment, etc.
    o Batteries: Auto or Laptop - No NiCad or Alkaline Batteries accepted.

    METAL and APPLIANCES
    o Appliances: Stoves, small appliances, microwaves, washers, dryers, refrigerators*, freezers*, air conditioners*, etc. [*All Freon must be removed]
    o Metal: Scrap metal, iron, steel, aluminum, brass, copper, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, lawn mowers (Fuel Drained), auto parts, BBQs, water heaters, wood stoves, Propane Tanks (Emptied and w/out valves), etc.

    PLASTICS - SORT CLEAN and DRY plastics into these categories:
    o Plastic Bags / Film: Dry cleaning bags, grocery bags, shrink, bubble & pallet wrap, clean freezer & Ziploc bags, clean Visqueen pliyethylene, six-pack rings, clean fertilizer, soil & seed bags.
    o Media Plastics: DVDs, CDs, jewel cases, cassette tapes and cases, VHS tapes, 8-track audio tapes.
    o CLEAN Rigid Plastics: All plastics #1 - #7, plastic strapping - no metal, buckets - no metal handles, bottle caps and drink lids (yogurt, butter, soda), nursery potting flats/ trays, nursery pots of all sizes, potting 4 and 6-packs, vinyl, tarps, swimming polis, liners.

    PAPER PRODUCTS
    o Paper
    o Cardboard

    ITEMS THAT ARE NOT ACCETABLE
    o NO garbage, NO yard debris, NO hazardous waste or other toxic materials. IF IT IS NOT ON THE LIST, WE CANNOT ACCEPT IT.
    o NiCad or Alkaline Batteries
    o NO VEHICLE FLUIDS: All fuel must be drained from gas-powered items.
    o NO LIGHT BULBS (Florescent or Incandescent).
    o NO STYROFOAM
    o UNACCEPTABLE PLASTICS
    • NO dirty or food contaminated plastic (No Milk Jugs or any plastic that has had food products in it).
    • NO containers with chemical residue (triple-rinsed only)
    • NO latex, Nitrile or rubber gloves
    • NO cereal liners
    • NO chip bags

    100% of all donations and the proceeds from the material recycled go to support the Glencoe High Scholi FTC Robotics Club. The location will be at the north parking lot of Glencoe High Scholi.
