  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2010 - New York glass artist Ivan Lee Mora, was selected by UrbanGlass, a not-for-profit international art center, to feature his "Queen of Hearts" glass corset collection, at the organization's first Annual Glass Casino night, held at the Steuben Glass Gallery on Madison Avenue in New York City. The event, which took place on November 12, and was attended by a crowd of young and hip art enthusiasts, secured Mora's debut in New York City.

To celebrate the event, Mora developed 3 stunning glass corsets. International film star Elizabeth Tan, musical theatre actress Jeane Raveendran, and local musician Saba Greene showed off the corsets with a dance performance to Brooklyn's Tin Pan band playing its signature 1920s Prohibition era music.

"I was very excited and honored to have my work featured at such a prestigious venue, said Ivan Lee Mora. "I love to create something beautiful for charity, and the corsets, originally inspired by women facing breast cancer, seemed like the perfect fit for this fundraising event."

UrbanGlass Executive Director Dawn Bennett commented: "Ivan Lee Mora's beautiful corsets contributed fantasy and seduction to a fun but serious evening. Exciting work like his is a result of talented artists having
access to equipment and technical expertise, which is the core mission of UrbanGlass - to be a leading resource for artists working with glass."
