In conjunction with MIJF 2013, the organizer is delighted to announce the debut of most resourceful educational gemology seminar - "Mozambique: The New Major Source for Rubies -The review of The Nature of These Rubies and Impact of New Discoveries on Ruby Trading" Seminar, presented by Dr. Laurent Massi, representative of Gemological Institute of America (GIA) on July 13, 2013 (Sunday), 3pm at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Following the discovery of the first ruby deposit in Niassa province (Northern Mozambique) at the end of 2008, a second and even more promising deposit was discovered in the Cabo Delgado province, close to the city of Montepuez. These discoveries, which occurred within a short period time, led to huge quantities of rubies of different qualities pouring into gem markets. Therefore, this seminar will be focused on the nature of these rubies. Significantly, the impact of these new discoveries on the ruby trading will be reviewed and discussed.
The seminar is opened to public and all jewellery industry's trade buyers.
