  • (1888PressRelease) January 31, 2014 - The programme will include a rare performance of Sonata, an early piano work by Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina, 'Techno Etudes' by one of Japan's leading living composers Karen Tanaka, several works by the award winning ECM artist Nik Bartsch and by British composer and milti-intrumentalist, Max de Wardener. GéNIA will also be debuting several pieces from her own upcoming piano album, "Thoughts of Today, Dreams of Tomorrow", that she has been writing while on sabbatical in Paris over the past year.

The audience may already be familiar with GéNIA's compositions as they have been played in all Café Nero's branches throughout the UK. The selection will include the beautifully haunting melodies of Distant Memories and Autumn Blues and a rousing homage to one of GéNIA's favorite contemporary composers, Philip Glass. The concert will start at 4pm in the stunning modern performance venue of Kings Place, on Sunday 9th February.
