  • Orlando, FL (1888PressRelease) October 02, 2013 - Genesis Studios, Inc., in Altamonte Springs, Florida, recently completed two hybrid digital renderings of the planned new Dollywood 300 room Hotel in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The renderings depict the designs of Fugleberg Koch, Architects, Winter Park, Florida.

It will be part of a $300,000,000 expansion named DreamMore Resort, with breathtaking views of Mount LeConte - which is one of the tallest peaks in the Smoky Mountains. It is set to open in 2015. The renderings were shown on the Today Show with a narration from Dolly Parton who describes herself as the "chief imaginer".

The total dollar investment in the next decade will exceed the company's spending on Dollywood so far.

"In 10 years' time, we will have spent more than we've spent since the inception back in 1986..." said Craig Ross, president.

Dollywood has a new website, www.dreammoreresort.com, where the Genesis Studios renderings are displayed. Leon Downey, who is the executive director of the Pigeon Forge Department of Tourism, commented on the importance of the Dollywood expansion. "We're basically 100 percent tourism" Downey said. "It's the only industry we have."

"It makes all of us in the city smile," Downey said. "Every year Dollywood has a new announcement, but this one is so big it dwarfs all the others."

On an average day, there are projected to be 50,000 guests in Pigeon Forge, which is in Sevier County, TN.

    The making of the renderings:

Genesis Studios received REVIT models from the architect, FKA. Numerous revisions were made in the process. The requested views of the renderings were aerial views. However, there were no useable photographs to use to create a "Photomontage". It was left to Genesis Studios to use their own hand painted library of trees and landscaping to come up with backgrounds that conformed to rough Google Earth imagery for the mountains in the background of both architectural renderings.

Genesis Studios also used their own hand painted landscape and sky library to create lush planting that conformed to indigenous plants as well as to the drawings from the landscape architect. The look departs from the often more sterile digital renderings that are commonly seen. Sometimes architects want the advantages of computer renderings but with the softness of a "hand painted" look. Genesis Studios' "Hybrid Digital" Architectural Illustrations achieve this look.
