Garrison Keillor and Erica Rhodes Live at Minnesota State Fair Sept 2nd
Youtube sensation Erica Rhodes reunites with mentor Garrison Keillor on NPR's A Prairie Home Companion show LIVE at next week's Minnesota State Fair.

Her Hollywood summer breaks have included starring in two independent feature films, appearing with Rob Lowe in Butterfinger the 13th videos, continuing her work on the ever-popular web series UpstairsGirls (150+ million YouTube views), and now reuniting with her mentor.
Erica's career as a performer began when Garrison first cast her to appear on his iconic radio variety program when Erica was only ten years old. This lucky break led Erica to performances all over the country, alongside Hollywood stars Meryl Streep, Martin Sheen, and Allison Janney. As Erica says, "The Prairie Home Companion crew is like a second family to me at this point. Garrison has always been my biggest fan, and a very important mentor over the years." In fact, it was Garrison who encouraged her to move to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams of becoming a film and TV actress.
When Garrison asked Erica to participate in this special Minnesota State Fair show during Labor Day Weekend, the actress jumped at the opportunity. "I never know when he's gonna call, but I'll never say no to doing his show. I love performing in front of those big, live audiences, and the energy of the Prairie Home Companion shows is like nothing I've ever experienced!" Minnesota fans are particularly enthusiastic, seeing as how the state is the location of "A Prairie Home Companion's" fictional town Lake Wobegon, "where the women are strong, the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average."
It also helped that Garrison, with his typically dry sense of humor, offered Erica a fun variety of potential characters to play. "We can have you hanging from a cliff," Garrison suggested. "Or saving an old lady from a runaway truck. Or doing a high wire act! We'll give you a moody, self-effacing trapeze partner who keeps saying he's not worthy of you. And you say, 'Just catch my wrists, that's all you have to do.'" This reunion show will be performed live on September 2, 2011, at 7:45pm at the fair, and air the next day on over 590 public radio stations, and abroad on America One and the Armed Forces Networks in Europe and the Far East.
