  • (1888PressRelease) August 29, 2013 - Author and poet Allen Taylor imagined an entertaining and unique take on Biblical stories, so he conjured the idea of the Biblical Legends Speculative Fiction Digital Anthology Series. That's a mouthful.

The series will be published strictly as electronic books for the Kindle, Nook and other e-readers. Each anthology in the series takes a story from the Bible and asks readers to expound upon it with a fictional story that fills in holes left blank in the original stories found in the Bible.

"I'm not concerned about whether writers come at the material from an orthodox point of view or from another point of view. I'm hoping to get a diverse selection of stories, essays, and poems to choose from with quality being the primary ingredient," Garden Gnome Publications publisher Allen Taylor said.

The first anthology is the Garden of Eden. Submitters are asked to tell the story of characters in the garden other than Adam, Eve, and the serpent. The deadline for submissions is midnight EST on November 23, 2013.

Other anthologies in the series will address the following themes and contain these deadlines:

    • Sodom and Gomorrah March 23, 2014
    • Deluge June 23, 2014
    • Land of Nod September 23, 2014

Allen Taylor is an Iraq War veteran who has been writing fiction and poetry for more than 25 years. He has been published online and in print. He is the author of the digital poetry collection "Rumsfeld's Sandbox" and the short story "The Saddest Tale Ever Told," both of which are available for the Kindle at Amazon.com.
