Jennifer Barolet spent most of her career as an engineer and has recently decided to spend more time following her long-time passion for art. Growing up in the country, she started drawing at an early age and continued to study and create art throughout her teens. After studying engineering and working professionally as an engineer for the past 20 years, Jennifer continued her dream of drawing and creating pieces of art. She is a self taught artist and is a current member of the Visual Arts Mississauga and Neilson Park Creative Centre.

"In my work, I try to express my desire for creating photorealism and peaceful abstracts using deep rich colours," states Jennifer. "With the piece "Poise", I hoped to capture the beauty and elegance of the ballerina at just the right moment."

Mississauga resident David Bottoni discovered his artistic talent in high school where he received a basic introduction to art and art history. Many years of self study, experimentation, working as a graphic artist in the sign industry and receiving some mentorship with high profile artists, David has honed his artistic skills to create a visual reflection of his life. His style is best described as contemporary realism and photorealism. His paintings vary by depicting objects, urban landscapes and portraits with a sentimental meaning that makes up some part of David's life, ideas or vision.

"The ability to re-create a realistic image using only a few simple colours and a paint brush is a process that is not only challenging, but is also deeply fulfilling," says David. "If paintings were just photographs, people might walk right by, but as a painting, one will marvel first at the technique and then move onwards to the subject. The examination of these objects and scenes in a close focused manner creates an intimate visual experience for the painter and the audience alike."
