  • (1888PressRelease) August 29, 2013 - The first of Gadsby's new ranges is a selection of high-quality and cost-effective cardboard gift packaging. The new packaging products are beautiful to look at and feel great to the touch, while being strong and robust.

Marketing Manager Will Gadsby explained the thinking behind the new range: 'We wanted a cost-effective alternative to our wicker range that still reflected the quality of the products our customers supply. We also wanted to ensure the new products were as eco-friendly as we could make them. Our solution was the strong recycled cardboard core with the high quality craft paper coating.

'Little touches also help - like the unique rope handles on our wine boxes and the elegant magnetic closing system on our gift boxes. Our trays also offer a good quality alternative for gift hampers. We believe that these products lead the way in terms of balancing cost-effectiveness and quality, and complement our range of wicker products perfectly.'

Aware of the time pressure on busy retailers in the run up to Christmas Gadsby wanted to make things as easy as possible for its customers - so everything comes fully assembled and ready to go. 'We know our people have more profitable things to do than fiddle around with flat-packed containers,' Will added. The new range of gift boxes, wine boxes and trays come in 3 colours: red, black and natural.

In keeping with their tradition of using natural materials to help retailers display and sell more products, Gadsby will also be displaying a new range of slate display and gift products.

'For retailers the slate items serve a dual purpose, either as chalkboards or a way to display products such as cheeses in a rustic, effective way,' Will explained. 'Or you could make up a cheese 'hamper' on a slate and package it with a knife as a quirky and memorable gift.'

There's also an impressive slate cake stand that could be used for in-store display or as a gift stocked with cupcakes or chutneys.

Slate products make great gifts in their own right as coasters and table mats, for example. The whole range features felt feet, making them safe to put on your prized furniture.

The full range of gift packaging and display products: cardboard, slate and wicker will be on show on stand 669.

Gadsby is pleased to be part of the Speciality and Fine Food Fair which allows trade buyers of high quality artisan foods to sample the finest products available. 'It's a celebration and acknowledgement of great food and the people who help create it, said Will. 'Our stand is right next to the 'Fine Food Forum' where some of the industry's top chefs will showcase and highlight current trends, flavours and ingredients.'

The other highlight is the annual Great Taste Awards. The show is the first chance to see and taste all the winners of these renowned seals of approval, sampling the best that our food producers have to offer.

Gadsby will be on stand 669 at the Speciality & Fine Food Fair, at London Olympia September 8 - 10.
