  • Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) October 17, 2011 - Local Grassroots Organizations get involved to show support for young aspiring Guitarist. Healthy Music Matters and The Philadelphia Blues Society have pulled together to hold a fundraiser to aide an aspiring guitar player. Health issues that have caused a serious hardship on the family have surrounded the family for three years. The family will receive all proceeds from the benefit.

    Shawn " Maniac" Touhill is an ordinary teenager with extraordinary talents and personality. He's the kind of kid that brings out the best in other performers when he is around. The family has been dealing with having to travel long distances so that his mother can receive the necessary treatments to help her. She is suffering from brain cancer. In addition to this his younger sister has leukemia. At the Rusty Nail 2580 Haverford Road in Ardmore on Tuesday October 18, from 8pm to midnight a fundraiser will be held to aide the family with some of their expenses and hopefully relieve some of the stress that can be caused when dealing with illness.

    The Philadelphia Blues Society founded by Toni Washingtin and Singer/writer Valori Steele are one of two organizations involved with organizing the event. Philadelphia Blues Society member Joe Sweeney offered to perform. Along with the band Deep Freeze. Other local artists such as Drummer Kerry D. Little from Coatesville Pa., Keyboard player and recording artist Kirk Abernathy, Classical singer David White, SEZ Entertainment Group and Neo Rapper Casanova Wanzel are among those expected to attend and perform at the Fundraiser. Several genres of music will be represented. Admission to the event will be $10.00.
