    Babu began his journey working in strategic leadership roles with natural food and healthy living brands at WhiteWave Foods. There, he helped to build the company’s corporate strategy, acquire businesses and integrate businesses post-acquisition, including WhiteWave’s own acquisition by Danone in 2016. Babu then served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Birch Benders, the #1 natural pancake & waffle mix brand and one of the fastest-growing brands in the United States. During his time with Birch Benders, he focused on scaling the business to four product lines and distribution to over 10,000 stores including Walmart, Kroger, and other key retailers, as well as led the company’s acquisition with Sovos Brands.

    In addition to bringing on Babu, Cappello’s welcomed another key leadership role earlier this year, VP of R&D and Commercialization, Ken Jenner. Formerly VP of Innovation at Boulder Brands, Jenner brings his 25+ years of experience in technical food science combined with culinary acumen to create innovative and disruptive offerings for retail consumer packaged goods. Jenner’s unique role at Cappello’s integrates the world of culinary arts with the complexities of food manufacturing at scale to help the company achieve commercialization without compromising on flavor, taste, and texture.
