  • (1888PressRelease) November 23, 2011 - On the third quarter of the year, Front Core Capital saw the leading smart phone producer that sold more than half of the smart phones around the world is Android which is powered by Google's software. They have sold a total of 60.5 million smart phones giving their operating system a 52.5 percent market share, which is twice higher from 25.3 percent in the same quarter last year.

    Next to them is Nokia which is using Symbian operating system that sold 19.5 million smart phones. But its share of the market smart phone drop to 16.9 percent compared from last year's share of 36.3 percent.

    Covering the third place is Apple that sold 17.3 million iPhones powered by iOS software but their market share also fall to 15.0 percent from 16.6 percent same period a year ago.

    Over 115.2 smart phone units are sold rising up to 42 percent in the quarter from last year and made up 26 percent on mobile sales from 25 percent the same quarter a year ago.

    For mobile phones, the overall leader is still Nokia despite that its market share slipped to 23.9 percent from last year's 28.2 percent.

    The second largest seller of mobile phones is South Korea's Samsung having a 17.8 percent of market share, up from 17.2 percent last year. Front Core Capital has noticed Samsung products have been on the rise in the Asian market place.

    Next is LG Electronic which is also from South Korea having a 4.8 market share, down from 6.6 percent last year.
