  • Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) November 01, 2016 - The Beauty-n-Motion 5k Walk Run 4 Life Health, Beauty and Wellness Expo has picked up momentum as Los Angeles, CA successfully launched its Beauty-n-Motion walk, health, beauty and wellness event. The next stop was Richmond Virginians for a day of great education, awesome demonstrations, and an opportunity to focus on the body, the mind, the self. Now onto Atlanta, Georgia!

    Saturday, Nov. 5th 2016, Beauty-n-Motion 5k Walk Run 4 Life takes place at the Historic Fourth Ward Park located at 680 Dallas St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30308. A total day of education, speakers, demonstrations, vendors and of course the 5k fun walk or run. With the emphasis on the health issues of African American women and their families, it is no wonder Women & Media have joined the movement as Health Ambassadors.

    The Beauty-n-Motion National Chair is Barbara A. Perkins-President of Sisters at the Well & Co-Founder of the International Black Women's Public Policy Institute (IBWPPI). The Atlanta Chair is Candace L. Byrd, Atlanta - Chief of Staff. In addition, Actress, Activist Sheryl Lee Ralph of The D.I.V.A. Foundation is the National Health Ambassador with Maria More, Radio-One Personality & Fitness Trainer join as an Official Atlanta Health Ambassador.

    Performances by Oscar Fields "James Brown Impersonator", Singer Carlton Blount Performs and others are scheduled along with Sandra & Karen Waller, Health Ambassadors.

    Beauty-n-Motion 5k Walk Run is produced by Black BeautyShop Health Foundation, a National grassroots organization that seeks to train and provide ongoing support to participating salons, their clients and surrounding neighborhoods. The goal is to bridge the gap in health disparities within communities across the country.

    The mission is to work with community stakeholders to empower Women of Color to take an active role in their total health by understanding and being responsive to their immediate health care needs through education, screenings and promoting healthy living strategies in Black owned beauty shops.

    For the 5k walk run, salons, media personalities, nonprofits and the communities in general are creating teams.

    Beauty salons, health organizations, women, teens, men, businesses, nonprofits are invited to participate by creating a team to walk/run, joining a team, becoming a vendor, sponsoring the event or teams or donating items for gift bags or donate funds. In fact, this is great for salons and businesses to get info out about their establishment and non-profits can use the Beauty-n-Motion 5k Walk Run 4 Life as a fundraising opportunity.

    Beauty-n-Motion 5k Walk Run 4 Life takes place Saturday, November 5th, 2016 at the Historic Fourth Ward Park in Atlanta, GA. This is the last stop of a 3-state tour. Other cities included were Richmond, VA- October 22nd h, and Los Angeles, CA which took place on June 12, 2016 with 8 Cities slated for 2017.

    ABOUT THE BLACK BEAUTYSHOP HEALTH FOUNDATION:
    Founder Margo LaDrew, is an expert at the intersection of beauty and health for African American women. Her Sales & Marketing Company, Wade & Associates Group has represented major beauty brands such as Dark & Lovely, Johnson Products, Let's Jam, Bronner Brothers and other leading hair care brands for black women and men. Additionally, Ms. LaDrew spent more than four years with the Black Barbershop Health Outreach Program. Under that organization's banner, she assisted the founder in developing, launching and implementing all programs, coordinated the national tours and also produced the African American Men's Health & Empowerment Summits. All told, Ms. LaDrew helped to deliver health screenings, resources and health education to more than 25,000 men in 26 cities before stepping down in June 2011.     The Black BeautyShop Health Foundation is a 501c3 organization established to empower African American women with knowledge to choose healthier lifestyles.
