  • (1888PressRelease) September 21, 2012 - TAMPA, Fla. - The Florida Supreme Court appointed Brian J. Baggot, a partner in the Tampa office of Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell, to the Court's Committee on Standard Jury Instructions in Civil Cases. The Committee is charged with drafting updated civil jury instructions based on changes in Florida law or new opinions issued by Florida District Courts of Appeal, the Florida Supreme Court, or the U.S. Supreme Court. The Committee meets several times a year to consider revisions to the civil jury instructions and to provide recommendations to the Florida Supreme Court on such changes.

    In his legal practice, Baggot primarily defends product liability lawsuits on behalf of manufacturers in the automotive, heavy equipment, aviation and appliance industries. Baggot also defends insurance coverage and bad faith lawsuits, as well as general casualty and commercial cases. Baggot is a member of the Florida and Alabama Bars as well as the Hillsborough County, Florida Bar Association. A former military prosecutor in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps, Baggot earned a Juris Doctorate with high honors, from the University of Florida College of Law.
