  • (1888PressRelease) August 03, 2011 - The research, which examines attitudes to cloud based training in different organisations in the UK, launches August 2nd. The study is conducted in partnership with the blended learning provider REDTRAY and independent benchmark research company Towards Maturity. It targets charities, the public sector and large businesses.

10,000 people will be asked questions to help uncover the reasons behind the slow adoption in live online learning technology in the work place. According to research by Marketing Bridge, growing and young businesses are two times faster to adopt cloud technology. Yet only 13% of all training delivery in organisations is done virtually, shows another study.*

Bob Woodland, Chairman and CEO of REDTRAY, comments, "The 13% take-up on cloud-based training came as a surprise, given the potential live online learning provides. The results of the study raised questions to why there is a gap between using virtual technology for meetings and implementing it for training. We want to know what the barriers to adoption are so we can help organisations overcome them."

The research will test awareness and perceptions of live online learning technologies in organisations in the UK. It will also look into the challenges businesses face when taking on virtual learning solutions, as well as their future plans and the expectations they have of new training technologies.

Woodland says, "We believe that the future of learning is in the cloud. There are numerous organisational issues, such as budget cuts or skills shortages which cloud based training, can help overcome. It's important that other organisations realise the benefits the virtual technology offers."

Laura Overton, Managing Director of Towards Maturity, "We are particularly delighted to be partnering with REDTRAY to investigate how to harness live online learning more effectively through this interesting joint study."

The results of the study will be published in September 2011 and will be shared will all interested parties. This is the first research done in partnership by Towards Maturity and REDTRAY.
