  • Wilmington-Newark, DE-MD (1888PressRelease) September 22, 2015 - Each year a group of artists come together at Country Pleasures Farm and Orchard, the oldest organic farm in Maryland. The Event Barn on the property is a beautiful Amish built structure with a wrap-around deck, French glass doors, lots of natural light and a perfect location to set up an art show. Eight artists will turn this space once again into an art gallery for two weekends, October 17-18-24-25th, 2015.

    This will be the last time the Fine Arts in the Valley group shows together at Country Pleasures Farm and Orchard. The Event Barn is in the process of transformation. In the near future it will be the home to Willow Oaks Craft Cider and Wine. Along the sides of the road coming to the barn and around the barn you will find willow oaks growing. The view from the deck you will see organic apples growing and young grape vines. When the tasting room opens their walls will still be adorned with original art work. There will be art events to accompany tasting on the growing Cider Trail.

    Come out for an autumn drive in the country, celebrate and support the artists at the last of this annual event. There will be small items for those holiday gifts, along with special pieces for that certain someone. Featured this year is Linda Harrison-Parsons, she will have some of the original works that inspired the labels for Willow Oaks Craft Cider along with her paintings and handmade paper works. Marilu Tosuignaut will have her original scratchboard works of nature and wildlife, she specializes in birds, her, owls will take your breath away. Homer Yost, sculpture, wildlife and figurative works, with small studies available for purchase. Photographers, Tracy Tousignaut Reed and Sarah Simpson, will have works on metal, canvas and paper. There images, cover near, far, close and distant, landscapes, wildlife, flowers, something for everyone. Husband and wife team, Christopher Proto and Lisa LeMair will his pottery, her jewelry and wearable fiber art. Rebecca Harrison will have her handcrafted stone and bead work jewelry; some pieces are sized for that young lady in mind.

    We will bring this special event to a close, with a reception on October 25th from 2:00 - 4:00. There will be specials going on over the two weekends. At the closing names will be drawn to win original works of art. How do you win? To be included in the drawing only requires a purchase from the artists.
