  • (1888PressRelease) January 20, 2020 - Istanbul, Turkey – A brand new connectivity experience is awaiting drivers of the new Fiat Professional Ducato: The new infotainment system by DAIICHI will help drivers stay connected to their vehicles and the world around them, featuring voice control capabilities and more realistic navigation. The new system includes the integration of Apple CarPlay and the compatibility with Android Auto

Developed by DAIICHI in cooperation with FCA teams, 7-inch touchscreen offers more screen real estate for drivers to access the many innovative infotainment features.

“We’re excited that the collaboration is bringing such great results,” said Fulvio Merlo, DAIICHI’s Director of European Operations. “Our new infotainment system in Fiat Professional Ducato offers an array of easy-to-use features to help drivers stay connected, informed and focused on driving.”

The platform also delivers faster response and sharper truck dedicated navigation than the previous systems in Fiat Professional Ducato, and also offers drivers one-step voice command of navigation and other functions. Drivers can make phone calls, give navigation instructions, send whatsapp messages and play their favorite music by Siri voice control – all without compromising safety. Entering destinations is a “one-shot” action, with the city, street and building number all in one natural sequence. A 3D-terrain model, 3D-cities and 3D-landmarks make navigation more realistic than ever.

Apple CarPlay shows road directions optimizes according to traffic conditions and can be used to make and receive phone calls, send and receive text messages and listen to Apple Music, audio books and podcasts while remaining focused on the road.

CarPlay also implements Siri voice control and is specifically designed for use in driving scenarios.

The system is compatible with Android Auto as well, to continue the Android experience in the car, by "projecting" apps and services on to the central display. It is designed to make retrieving information while driving easy and safe. The driver can use Google Maps or Waze to obtain route guidance and easily access music, multimedia contents and their favorite messaging apps.
