  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) August 24, 2011 - A movie premiere is by far the most satisfying and enjoyable time for the cast and crew, for all their hard work is done and it is time for them to enjoy the fruit of their efforts. This was precisely the case at the Art Theater in Long Beach, California this past Saturday August 20, which hosted the world premiere of independent action film "Justice on the Border." The film, written and directed by the deceased star of the film, Spencer Lighte, is the story of an American Army ranger (Vanessa Herrera), kidnapped by a Mexican drug lord (Neto De Paula) and the efforts of her military colleagues (Pete Freeland, Spencer Lighte, Joe DiSparti) to rescue her.

The Red Carpet event was attended by most of the cast despite the notable absence of its dearly departed director. The rest of the talented actors featured in the film made appearances in their best attire. Among the best dressed were, appropriately enough, two models-turned-actresses that played notable roles in the film: Chanel Ryan and Jamie Bernadette.

The executive producer of the film, Donelle Russell finds a double satisfaction from the film's success, "Not only was I pleased with the audience's reaction, but I truly believe this would've made Spencer really proud and happy - to see what we created together finally come to fruition."

After the screening, the movie received a few minutes of applause by all in attendance. The success of the film was in part thanks to the vision of its departed creator, but the rest of the production team was equally responsible. Pete Freeland, another major star in the film recalls his other job as casting director, "It's an amazing feeling to see all the people who used to be perfect strangers when I cast them, here together as friends and colleagues to see our movie. In a way, this event gives me hope that we can reach other people with the film as well. The atrocious acts of violence against women in Northern Mexico addressed by the film need to be known by more people. It is my hope that this movie does precisely that by raising awareness, and not merely entertaining."

Also in attendance were veteran actor Bill Knight, Jennie Floyd, Haile D'Alan, Sandy Baumann, Fabiana Rares, and Mikel Avila.

The film is now complete and will be shown soon at various film festivals throughout next year in preparation for theatrical and video distribution.
