Shortly afterwards he joined prestigious financial company Clark Whitehill and trained as a Chartered Accountant. Mike qualified in 1986 and is now a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

In 1987 Mike gained employment with Meridian Computers Ltd where he remained until 1990 and took on several positions from Group Financial Controller to the Finance Director of the services division, which operated in seven different countries. In 1990 Mike moved into the role of Group Financial Controller at technology company Alphameric where he remained until his appointment at FDM last month. Throughout the 21 years of his employment at Alphameric, Mike took on the role of Group Finance Director, Group Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer.

Whilst serving on the Board of Alphameric Plc, Mike was also appointed as a Non-Executive Director of its joint venture; Amalgamated Racing Limited, which provides the Turf TV service to bookmakers in the UK and Ireland.
