  • Boston, MA-NH (1888PressRelease) August 18, 2010 - Six talented student fashion designers, many with previous competitions under their belt, are competing for your votes online! But this isn't just any fashion competition. These student designers have also made a commitment to charity by participating in Styleta.org's first Student Designer Challenge.

Styleta.org is a nonprofit fashion startup that takes the traditional charity thrift store upscale and online, by selling only designer clothing donations through a luxury e-commerce boutique for women's initiatives. All six students donated their handcrafted, one-of-a-kind fashion pieces for auction on Styleta's website, the proceeds of which will go to support women's initiatives such as Dress for Success. Voting to pick the winner of the competition is open to the public from August 15 to September 15 - simply go to www.styleta.org and "Like" both Styleta and your favorite designer to cast your vote! Styleta will also be picking over 10 lucky voters to receive $20 gift certificates to shop designer fashion for a cause.

"Styleta's aim is to use something fun and creative that we all love - fashion - to do social good," says Styleta founder and CEO Yifan Zhang. "This Student Designer Challenge embraces our mission by featuring both our student designers' wonderful work and its ability to raise funds for charity."

You can support Styleta and the student designers by going to www.styleta.org to vote, shop for a cause, or donate pieces of your own.
