  • Austin-San Marcos, TX (1888PressRelease) March 12, 2013 - The Actors Arena is Austin's newest acting studio and is led by the accomplished Terry Kiser, who promises to bring a breath of fresh air to the acting scene in Austin. Terry, a seasoned professional and lifetime member of the Actors Studio, studied under the great Lee Strasberg in New York City and has appeared in over 150 films, shows and plays. An effective and sought-after acting coach, Terry has mentored other aspiring actors and continues to play on and off screen.

The Actors Arena will offer classes in scene study, cold reading, private coaching and on-camera techniques. "I want to create a safe environment for my students," explained Terry. "I plan to accomplish this through a 'no intimidation/exploration' approach to acting. Come just as you are. This journey is all about finding yourself through acting and also learning how 'not to act'." Classes and workshops will be open to all ages and all acting levels, from those who have always dreamt of acting to professionals wanting to perfect their craft. "I am thrilled to be a part of such a great community and to help students to explore, develop, enhance and refine the craft of acting."

The Actors Arena will host a free workshop on April 23rd from 7:30-10:00 pm at Austin Studios (Gate 2, Room A) to kick off their studio's premiere. Attendees can expect a fun, one-of-a-kind evening exploring the craft of acting with Terry as he talks and works with fellow actors. He will also outline the details of his initial 8-week scene study course and his on-going cold reading course. Space is limited and attendance will be on a first come, first serve basis.

The Actors Arena will be a place to continue Terry's love of acting and the craft, and most importantly, a place to share his enthusiasm and talents with other aspiring artists. After several visits, Terry and his team chose Austin to launch their new studio. "Austin seemed to be the capital of new, creative growth in America. How exciting to now be in on that!" said Terry on why this city was a perfect fit. He added, "It's young, vibrant and alive with ideas and energy - the perfect place for the Actors Arena."
