  • (1888PressRelease) February 24, 2012 - The tensile fabric company is a leading light on fabric manufacturing with R&D investments yielding new products and techniques on a regular basis. Recent new product developments include its biogas storage domes and salt covers. The company is also a pioneer of new membrane techniques in cladding as well as a glazing substitute in the form of single skin ETFE.

Future research will focus on smart fabrics which involve the potential to print electronic circuitry onto fabrics allowing them to respond to local conditions.
In addition to its tensile fabric expertise, Base Structures will be exhibiting a working 5m3 model of a Biogas storage dome. With capacities ranging from 5m3 to 5,000m3, these are one of the latest innovative products that function as a fundamental component in Anaerobic Digestion plants, helping to create free energy from waste.

Jon Morris, director and head of production at Base Structures said "It is immensely gratifying for Base Structures to be given the opportunity to showcase our products alongside other leading innovating companies based in the West Country."

Bonnie Dean, chief executive of the Bristol & Bath Science Park, said: "The conference is an excellent opportunity to exchange information and to explore new ideas. The exhibition area will be a showcase for new technologies and products developed and made in the South West."
