  • Pittsburgh, PA (1888PressRelease) June 07, 2011 - Eye Deals Eyewear of Pittsburgh will launch an exciting new line of eyewear called Paws 'N Claws, designed for the 170 million plus audience of dog and cat owners. After several years in development and test market, the new frames and cases are ready and began shipping this week to over 500 retailers nationwide who ordered through the presale.

The Paws 'N Claws eyeglass design will be embellished with paw prints or bones in a tasteful and fashionable, yet subtle way, so the customer can show their love of animals. Five original designs will be featured for the first launch, two of which are sunglasses.

To show their support of animals and provide a simple way for consumers to do so, Eye Deals Eyewear, Inc. will donate five percent of their net sales to the ASPCAź (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). Founded in 1866, the ASPCA is the first humane organization established in the Americas and serves as the nation's leading voice for animal welfare.

"We wanted to support a cause that's close to our hearts and make it easy for pet lovers everywhere to easily join in the fight to prevent cruelty to animals," said Samuel Shapiro, President of Eye Deals Eyewear, who is also an avid animal lover and supporter of animal rights groups such as Steel City Greyhounds, Animal Rescue League, and Pet Match adoption service. Paws 'N Claws will provide opportunities for individuals, retailers, and local groups to get involved and support the cause as well.

Traditional eyeglass distributors will be promoting Paws 'N Claws prescription frames, prescription sunglasses, and eyewear accessories including cases and will be expanding rapidly into the national market. Prescription frames and opthalmic sunglasses will run in the $125 to $200 price range.
